We found out yesterday that we're having a healthy baby girl! We were so excited to think about 2 little girls running around - especially Michael. He knows that he's going to be outnumbered, but I think he needs that!
After some explanation that she was going to be getting a sister, Eleanor had some interesting things to say:
Mom: "Are you excited about getting a baby sister?"
Eleanor: "Eleanor doesn't want a baby sister."
Mom: "Well, if you don't want a baby sister then what do you want?"
Eleanor: "Crackers."
I think that just about sums up her capacity to take this all in right now!!

Brilliant response by Eleanor - of course a 2 year old wants crackers rather than a baby sister she can't yet see, especially if they are delicious. Some day she'll be a big sister giving crackers Culloton little girl #2!
Congrats on the duo of girls! It's a win-win -- they can sing duets (or perhaps 4 hand piano), or the 3 of you can get some great SSA songs - and who can't use a second bass? They're always welcome!
Hooray for you! I love the crackers response. So true....really, what child wouldn't rather have crackers than an abstract baby sister who will just need attention (:
