Harms' Cabin Vacation: August 11th - 14th, 2008
This past spring, we were fortunate enough to be invited to Dr. Roger & Kris Harms' cabin near Hayward, WI. It's a lovely 2-story home with 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 kitchens & a common room. It was built by 2 families many years ago and Roger & Kris have owned it for 10 years now. They were such gracious & wonderful hosts and we had a fantastic week! The following pictures are of Eleanor's first boat ride. Roger & Kris took us out on their fishing boat first (we took the big boat out on another lake on our 3rd day there). As you can see in the above photo, Eleanor looks a bit hesitant!
Now she's warming up to the idea a bit...

YES! I really like this!!
Clear Lake has a small family of loons. A Papa, Mama & baby loon (not pictured). This was exciting for Eleanor because we've been reading a book called "Papa Loon & Baby Loon." At one point we were able to get up close enough to see the parents feeding the baby loon fish!
Here is a cluster of turtles sunning themselves on a nice log.
Swimming, of course, was also on the agenda! Roger & Kris's dog, Roe, is quite a little water bug! We enjoyed watching him chase after balls in the water.
Here is a shot of Kris & Roe in their super cool paddle Kayak. Michael and I got to take this out by ourselves too!

What an awsome succession of photos of Eleanor getting used to the boat!! How fun...looked like great fun!! Brought back many memories of Grandma and Grandpa Mohs taking the boys out on the lake, and swimming, and seeing and hearing the loons etc. etc. And, those are 3 reasons why I miss the lake so much. Will look forward to next summer at a cabin.

Eleanor is right in style with that darling life vest, compliments of Mari Lee! What a great experience--we also have many fond memories of Toad Lake when the kids were small. It is nice to see B, M & E building memories as well. Bahnka/Karma
