The Hansen Pool

We are so blessed with our wonderful friends, Alan & Jolene Hansen. They have an absolutely gorgeous backyard with a pool and are so gracious to let us come swim whenever we want (for the most part!). They even let us swim one weekend when they were out of town! I took several pictures of the backyard...

Eleanor has basically learned to swim in the Hansen pool. She took two weeks of swimming lessons this summer and between that and the Hansen pool she is completely comfortable in the water. When she's not in the shallow end, she wears a Puddle Jumper lifejacket which is so much better than the lifejackets we had as kids. She even feels comfortable jumping off the diving board in her lifejacket. Miriam can also wear a Puddle Jumper, but we have to be more careful with her. She can "free float" a bit, but we have to be right by her. She has also gained more confidence in the water.

Alan is such an amazing carpenter and overall handyman. He did all the work on the backyard, including making this pagoda/deck. It's perfect to get out of the sun & have a glass of wine (or a Diet Coke)! He has also done all of the woodwork in their house - and that is gorgeous too!

Here is Eleanor's Puddle Jumper. They are so nice because they keep the child afloat with the floatation in the front & arms. It really allows the child to learn to swim.

We always have to take a break & have a snack!
